The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) is pleased to announce the appointment of two accomplished executives, Mr. Andy Odeh and Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi, to key leadership positions. Mr. Odeh assumes the role of Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Mrs. Adewunmi has been appointed Chief Relations Officer.
With over 30 years of experience in communications and business administration, Mr. Odeh brings expertise spanning oil and gas, advertising, and broadcasting. He previously spent 26 years at Nigeria LNG (NLNG), where he held senior roles in Community Relations, Business Logistics, IT, Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, Government Relations, and Regulatory Compliance before becoming General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development.
At NLNG, Mr. Odeh led major PR and advertising campaigns, spearheaded the company’s rebranding, and rolled out one of Nigeria’s most successful micro-credit schemes for host communities. He also established the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting. He is an alumnus of the University of Jos, the University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
Mrs. Adewunmi, a legal professional with more than 25 years in the oil and gas sector, specializes in stakeholder management and advocacy. She built her career at the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN), where she became known for navigating complex external environments, ensuring regulatory compliance, and safeguarding the company’s operating license.
At Shell, she served as Regulatory Affairs Manager, overseeing mandatory regulatory engagements and permits, and later as Government Relations Manager, where she cultivated strong ties with the Presidency, ministries, departments, and agencies. She is respected for her leadership, emotional intelligence, and ability to foster robust stakeholder networks. A subject-matter expert in non-technical risks, she holds a law degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University and was called to the Nigerian Bar.
By appointing Mr. Odeh and Mrs. Adewunmi, NNPC Ltd. reinforces its commitment to strengthening communication and deepening stakeholder engagement.
