ExxonMobil is planning to return to Libya’s energy sector through an early agreement to explore offshore natural gas.
The move would mark its first activity in the country after stepping back years ago.
The company is looking to explore offshore gas fields, following other international firms that are showing renewed interest in Libya’s resources.
ExxonMobil also intends to take part in an upcoming licensing round organized by Libya’s National Oil Corporation, alongside other foreign companies.
