The Dangote Petroleum Refinery will soon receive approximately 12 million barrels of crude oil from the United States.
According to The Africa Report, the crude shipment has already left the U.S. and is expected to arrive in Nigeria next month.
An insider source told The Africa Report that 12 million barrels of crude are en route from the U.S. and should reach Nigeria by February.
Due to local supply shortages, the $20 billion Dangote Refinery has turned to crude imports to sustain operations.
The refinery aims to achieve its full refining capacity of 650,000 barrels per day by June this year.
However, limited crude supply from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) is hindering efforts to scale up production.
As NNPC struggles to meet demand, the refinery has increasingly relied on imported crude to maintain fuel production.
