Egypt is preparing to allocate new gas exploration blocks to international companies in August.

The concessions span vast areas in the north and northeast, including offshore zones in the Eastern Mediterranean. Egypt’s state-owned gas company is offering a mix of onshore and offshore sites as part of its latest licensing round.

Interest is reportedly high, especially in key exploration zones like the Mediterranean, Gulf of Suez, and Western Desert.

This move aligns with Egypt’s continued efforts to expand gas production and attract foreign investment into its energy sector.

The awarded bidders are expected to be announced in August. According to the Ministry’s bidding platform, the available blocks cover a substantial area, with a portion located offshore in the Mediterranean.
