Saipem has secured a US$260 million offshore drilling contract from Eni Ivory Coast. The contract will deploy Saipem’s Santorini drillship for a long-term development drilling campaign offshore Ivory Coast, with operations expected to start in early 2027. The contract also includes options to extend the drilling program and deploy the rig in neighboring countries, giving Saipem longer-term work for the vessel.
The award strengthens Saipem’s position in offshore drilling and demonstrates its ability to deploy high-specification drilling assets for exploration, appraisal and development projects.
Saipem has also secured a contract worth millions of euros to support the third development phase of Eni’s Baleine project offshore Ivory Coast.
Under the contract, Saipem will handle the engineering, fabrication, transportation and installation of subsea infrastructure in water depths of up to 1,300 metres. The work will include about 50 kilometers of rigid pipelines and associated subsea structures.
Saipem will deploy its construction vessels, FDS and Shen Da, for around three years to support the project. Their work will include transporting and installing flexible risers, flexible jumpers, subsea production systems, a 3-kilometre flexible gas export flowline and 22 kilometres of subsea umbilicals.
SLB’s OneSubsea joint venture will carry out the engineering, procurement, and construction work for multiple wells. The scope includes installing complete subsea production systems for 13 wells.
The contract will cover the wells’ full development cycle, from installing subsea trees, umbilicals, manifolds, multiphase flowmeters and control systems to commissioning and life-of-field services. This integrated approach will help coordinate project execution and support the fast-track development schedule.
