According to Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Nigeria’s Gasoline Integrated International intends to construct a 3 billion naira ($68 million) refinery in Tongeji Island.

The plant’s initial capacity for refining 100,000 liters per day and other petroleum products will be increased to 400,000 liters per day over time.

The company, which has upstream and downstream interests, has acquired an oil block at Tongeji Island, the newspaper said.

The project will be built on 800 hectares of land that has already been acquired, said the governor’s chief press secretary, Kunle Somorin.

Chinese technology will be used to complete the project in 36 months.

According to the official, “Ogun State will have the security and assurance of petroleum products at all times thanks to this project.”
