Nigeria, Algeria, and Niger have signed agreements to advance the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) and increase gas exports to Europe.

Officials from the three countries signed the agreements during a project meeting in Algiers on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

President Bola Tinubu’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, announced that energy companies from the three nations were involved in signing the agreements.

He stated that the agreements covered an update to the project’s feasibility study, a compensation plan, and a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

His statement confirmed that Nigeria, Algeria, and Niger formalized agreements to push forward the TSGP, a project aimed at linking Africa’s gas reserves to European markets.

The agreements included provisions for a feasibility study update, a compensation framework, and an NDA among energy firms from the three countries.

The TSGP is a strategic initiative to construct a continental pipeline that will transport natural gas from Nigeria through Niger to Algeria, supporting exports to Europe and other global markets.
