Egypt uncovered gas-bearing zones in a Western Desert well, with a net thickness of 253 feet (around 77.1 meters) and an estimated yield of 12.5 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Engineers are currently conducting tests while preparing a $10 million, 23-kilometer pipeline extension and planning further drilling to raise daily gas production to 30 million cubic feet.

At the same time, specialists are assessing two newly discovered wells in the Gulf of Suez to determine their potential reserves.

These recent discoveries align with Egypt’s broader plan to establish itself as a key energy hub in the region.

Major earlier finds, like the Zohr gas field in the Mediterranean—believed to contain 30 trillion cubic feet of gas—continue to strengthen this strategic vision.
