The Republic of Congo aims to boost production by 200,000 barrels per day by 2030 and has signed a US$23bn agreement with Chinese company Wing Wah for three permits.

The deal covers the integrated development of the Banga Kayo, Holmoni, and Cayo permits and was signed by Congo’s Hydrocarbons Minister Bruno Jean-Richard Itoua, State Minister Jean-Jacques Bouya, and Wing Wah President General Xiao Lianping.

The pact could raise cumulative production from the three permits to more than 1.3 billion barrels by 2050.

The agreement also includes an integrated gas monetization plan that will expand LNG, LPG, butane, and propane production in phases to serve both domestic and export markets.

The integrated model provides scalable gas treatment, on-site power generation, and water-management systems, all built for efficiency and community benefits.
