Algeria begins building a solar power project, initiating a broader initiative to establish 15 similar plants nationwide.

According to reports from Elkhabar and other sources, Algerian Energy Minister Mohamed Arkab initiated the commencement of the project in the northeastern El-Mghair Province on Monday.

The newly launched plant, featuring a capacity of 200 megawatts (MW), is slated for completion within a period of 14 months.

The development is part of a strategic government initiative to bolster reliance on renewable energy sources, with plans encompassing the establishment of 15 c parks collectively capable of generating 2,000 MW.
