TotalEnergies SE has renewed its contract with Northern Ocean Ltd. for the Deepsea Mira to continue operations in West Africa.
The firm term of the contract is extended to October 2024 for one well and provides one additional well option.
TotalEnergies SE started a multi-well drilling program offshore Namibia following the Venus light oil discovery in Block 2913B (PEL 56) and exploration of the Venus accumulation into Block 2912 (PEL 91) (OGJ Online, Dec. 21, 2023).
The extension from October secures a firm revenue backlog of approximately $24.3–34.2 million, with an option to extend for an additional well, potentially increasing the backlog by another $26.9–36.9 million.
