Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi met with Norway’s ambassador to Egypt, Hilde Klemetsdal, along with Terje Pilskog, CEO of the Norwegian company Scatec, and their delegation.
They discussed strengthening collaboration between Egypt’s oil and gas sector and Scatec in green energy, particularly in light of their ongoing green ammonia production project in Damietta Governorate.
Badawi highlighted the strong partnership with Norway, emphasizing its advanced technologies that drive key strategic projects.
He also underscored the expertise and capabilities of Egypt’s oil and gas companies, which enable them to execute large-scale projects efficiently and to international standards.
Klemetsdal reaffirmed Norway’s commitment to its partnership with Egypt, citing strong political support from both nations and Egypt’s determination to deliver major projects and success stories.
Pilskog provided updates on the progress of the green ammonia production project, which utilizes green hydrogen in Damietta Governorate.
He emphasized Egypt’s strategic location and resources, which position it as a key supplier of green hydrogen and green ammonia to Europe.
