Aliko Dangote has established a new oil and gas company in Cameroon, appointing Bertrand Mbouck as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The new company will operate across several segments of the oil and gas industry, including fuel imports, distribution, refining and petrochemicals. This expands on the group’s plans announced in July 2026, which initially focused on fuel storage and pipeline infrastructure.
Dangote Oil & Gas Cameroon SA has an initial capital of $17,000 (CFA10 million). The company is headquartered in the Bonanjo district of Douala, with a registered operations center in the Kribi industrial zone.
The investment forms part of Dangote Group’s wider expansion into petroleum storage, transportation and distribution infrastructure across Africa.
In October 2026, the group announced the acquisition of a 25% stake in Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC), equivalent to approximately 4.5 billion shares, for $327 million.
In Southern Africa, Dangote Group is positioning Namibia as a distribution hub for refined petroleum products from its Lagos refinery. The plan involves supplying Namibia and using the country as a route to neighboring markets, including Botswana and South Africa.
In the Horn of Africa, the group is developing a petroleum distribution corridor linking Djibouti to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The project includes tank farms to store and distribute petroleum products transported through the port of Djibouti into landlocked Ethiopia.
Dangote Oil & Gas Cameroon SA’s registered activities cover the design, financing, construction and operation of pipelines for crude oil, natural gas and refined petroleum products. Its mandate also includes developing storage depots and marine terminals, importing and exporting fuel, wholesale trading, distribution, and operating facilities for loading and unloading hydrocarbons.
The company’s approved business activities also extend to oil refining, petrochemicals, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), lubricants and bitumen sales, as well as operating filling stations.
This is a broader mandate than the storage terminal project presented by Dangote Group Vice President Devakumar Edwin to Cameroon’s Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute, in July 2026. The new company now has the corporate scope to operate across several stages of the oil and gas value chain, subject to obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals.
