Tullow Oil has signed a rig contract to drill up to 10 wells under its 2027 to 2028 drilling program in Ghana. The rig is expected to arrive around mid-2027, with the company using high-quality four-dimensional (4D) seismic data, alongside additional data from the Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) survey, to identify drilling targets.

Tullow has completed its 2025 to 2026 drilling campaign, bringing six new production wells at the Jubilee field online. The campaign’s final well, a water injector, also came online in September 2026.

Gross oil production from the Jubilee field averaged 70,800 barrels per day (BOPD) in the first half of 2026, while net production averaged 27,600 BOPD, exceeding expectations. According to Tullow’s first-half 2026 report, interpreting 4D seismic data provided important reservoir insights that helped the company select successful drilling targets and achieve strong production performance. The company also improved output from existing wells through production optimization activities, with several key wells performing better than expected decline rates, supported by dual riser operations.

Water injection performance for the full year remains in line with expectations, despite unexpected downtime in the second quarter. Voidage replacement remained above 100% in the first six months of 2026 and showed an increasing annual trend. Production from the TEN fields also exceeded expectations, with gross oil production averaging 14,800 BOPD and net production reaching 8,100 BOPD.

Tullow is progressing several near-term projects to convert resources at the Jubilee and TEN fields into reserves. These include subsea pumps, further development drilling, gas resource monetization, and well intervention activities. The company has also identified longer-term opportunities around existing fields and potential infrastructure-led exploration prospects in deeper formations beneath Jubilee and TEN, supported by high-quality 4D seismic data and future insights from the OBN survey.
