Sirte Oil, a subsidiary of Libya’s National Oil Corporation, has drilled two horizontal wells in the Zelten and Wadi fields, using advanced real-time reservoir mapping technology.
The completion of these wells is expected to boost production capacity by 2,300 barrels per day (BPD), enabling Sirte Oil to exceed a daily production target of 100,000 BPD.
The first well, C355H-6, located in the Zelten field, was drilled as part of the first phase of the 2024 exceptional production increase plan. Evaluation tests show that the well could produce over 1,200 BPD. The second well, D27H-149, in the Wadi field, targets the M reservoir and should yield around 1,100 BPD.
