TotalEnergies’ subsidiary has awarded Saipem three contracts worth over $3.7 billion for the Kaminho project, focused on developing the Cameia and Golfinho oil fields offshore Angola.

One of the contracts from TotalEnergies EP Angola Block 20 refers to the engineering, procurement, construction, transport, and commissioning of the Kaminho floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.

The second contract entails the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the same FPSO for a firm period of 12 years with a potential eight-year extension. Saipem has O&M experience from the three other FPSOs currently operating in Angola.

The third contract involves the engineering, procurement, supply, construction, installation, precommissioning, and assistance for the commissioning and start-up of a subsea, umbilicals, risers, and flowlines package, which includes approximately 30 km of 8-in and 10-in subsea flowlines, risers, and umbilicals. The associated structures will be fabricated in Saipem’s yard in Ambriz, Angola.

For the offshore campaign, Saipem will utilize its multi-purpose DP-3-class field development ship, Saipem FDS, specifically for the J-lay vessel. The company will also heavily involve the local supply chain in logistics and fabrication activities.
